This form is for Girl Scout volunteers to request to complete the Outdoor Skills Accelerated course.

Girl Scouts of Colorado understands that there are many volunteers who are outdoor enthusiasts, and we want to recognize your expertise!

The following trainings must be completed before submitting your request to access this course:

• GSUSA Girl Scouts in the Outdoors - through gslearn
• GSCO Overnight Training - through gsLearn
• Leave No Trace - through https://lnt.org/get-involved/training-courses/online-awareness-course/

The course is divided into two parts.

• Part one - set of three videos followed by knowledge check questions.
• Part two- Familiarizing yourself with the Outdoor Skills resource guide and demonstrating the ability to navigate its contents.

While every request will be considered, a request is not a guarantee an approval. All course completion results are reviewed by the Girl Scouts of Colorado training manager, Brandi Martinez.

The Outdoor Skills Accelerated course may not be approved if:

• GSCO training requirements have not been met.
• Your outdoor experience does not meet the minimum requirements or answers did not provide enough detail.

Responsibility Agreement:

By submitting this form, I acknowledge that as the primary contact, I am responsible for:

• Meeting any applicable volunteer training requirements.
• Following Safety Activity Checkpoints for all applicable activities, including requirements about: participant program levels, supervision ratios, program equipment, safety gear, instructor certification/experience, anything else.
• Ensuring all participating adults have a current Girl Scouts membership, completed the background check process and are an approved adult volunteer; or purchasing additional insurance for non–members by emailing insurance@gscolorado.org if applicable.
• If applicable, purchasing additional insurance for extended and overnight trips by emailing insurance@gscolorado.org.
